Another Robert Bateman poem.

Merganser Family in Hiding
                   For Robert

Among the spindle twigs,
advancing on old forgotten roots,
float a family. Lily pads,

Spiritually hand painted, reflecting
an omnipresent spring-like lustre;
a feathered audience retires.
