Remembering Whiffin Spit
Kayaks, long and sleek—
Whiffin Spit Beach extends past
lovers of the open seas.
Blue-grey mountains climb,
reaching past ideas of snow-capped
giants sleep ‘till dawn.
Pebble paths crisscross
native grasses, without reason;
logs lounge like giants.
