Seeking Treasure
Get up, you sleepyhead. It’s time for an
early morning adventure on the dyke, to search
off-trail for containers full of notes, trinkets, and
coins. Don’t forget to bring your gloves and tweezers,
and a pen. Don’t worry if we do not find the spot. We
can always go back another day. I find
hunting is best when there are two of us searching,
inside, outside, under, over, or around ‘ground zero’. We
might spend an hour looking,
not noticing the time as the sun sets slowly,
going down behind the hills on the other side of Boundary
Bay.
